Smania Outdoor products

13.06.2017

Smania Outdoor products were inspired by Alessandro La Spada’s creativity. Furniture and decorative objects are inspired by the forms of nature: captivating lines and sinuous patterns create light structures. What seemed empty is actually permeated by matter. This collection is clearly elegant and comfortable, and it combines classical and modern styles.

They are all light and delicate, even the Tahiti coffee tables, in teak wood and ‘whitewashed’ ceramic tops, completed by lamps and lanterns, in both floor and suspended (Chios) versions, and by “EcoSun” bronze (Cook) vases, showing the pure charm of the company and designer.

The Outdoor products, in Ruby Carob,  Blue Night and Icy White, rich shades of  the Figi Sofa in “EcoSun”, are a pleasant and idyllic journey into the natural world, they evoke the sensation of touching the sand with the fingers, of hearing the sound of waves crashing on the rocks and of being caressed by the light of the moon.

Moreover the woven strip elements on a painted aluminum structure of the Evia Chaise Long and the Hydra armchair, and the combination of high quality Bronze and Pearl fabrics along with the vein details, evoke a sinuous interplay of the vine shrubs.

Alessandro La Spada

Alessandro La Spada obtained an Interior Design degree and teaches Furniture Interior Design at IDI’AC and Domus Academy. Eccentric and eclectic, he is strongly attracted to the emotional aspect of objects, other than being particularly inspired by materials, most of all by steel. Alessandro La Spada collaborates with Smania since 2009, creating the luxury outdoor furniture of Costa Rey collection (2010), Beyond collection (2011) and Contrast collection, presented in 2016. He gave a huge contribution to Smania evolution, shaping its character and revealing new aspects at the same time.
